SRS Making Cleaning Sweeter

Supplier to Nestle for over 14 years SRS Cleaning Equipment has just supplied 3 new Wrangler Scrubber Driers.

SRS Cleaning Equipment and Nestle York have enjoyed a long working relationship over the past 14 years.

This relationship continues with Nestle's latest purchase of a NSS Wrangler 3330 pedestrian scrubber drier.  This machine will replace the NSS Wrangler 27 that has been operating in COCO PROCESSING GREEN for the last 11 years, This Department is unique in that once a machine enters this Department it cannot be removed until it requires replacing.

Garrick Fearn of Nestle explains that "Nestle receive Cocoa beans from across the World, when these beans are harvested from trees they are allowed to ferment by the roadside covered by leaves and in some cases not covered at all and open to the elements, which can include airborne insects, crawling insects, spiders, snakes and the like.  Though the beans are fumigated we cannot be 100% certain that all insects have been killed.  For this reason the Green Area of Cocoa Processing (which is where the machine was based) is treated as a high-risk area.  This is why the machine cannot be removed from site for repairs.  The only time it goes off the site, as in this case is when it is at the end of its working life.

For the first 8 years of operation the Wrangler 27 was used 7 days a week on a 24 hour shift for approximately 2 hours per day, increasing in the Winter months as wagons often left water on the Bean reception floor which had to be cleaned up for safety reasons. 

The last 3 years the cleaning has been carried out on a day shift over 7 days and approximately 9 hours per week.  The floor area surfaces are slightly different in that the Bean storage floor and the Bean reception floor are both of a smooth finish, whereas the Pre-treatment floor is a rough finish.  The Wrangler 27 has proved to be extremely durable, easy to use and maintain and extremely reliable.  When you consider that the first 8 years of operation this machine was operated by 24 different persons, each with their own unique way of using the machine".                                                                                                                                                                                  

As well as Coco Processing SRS has installed scrubber driers in  CHOC ELEC and MELANGEUR Departments, where they continue to maintain the floors to the high standards required.

In September SRS supplied Nestle CHOC ELEC with the Wrangler 3330 that replaces an eleven year old Wrangler 27 and two Wrangler 26s.  Steve Hagen of Nestle commented "Nestle CHOC ELEC have over several years found the Wrangler Scrubber Driers to be reliable, easy to operate and producing excellent cleaning results and we are happy to continue our association with SRS and Wrangler Scrubber Driers"
