How To Use Industrial Cleaning Equipment

If you are the owner of a large-scale warehouse, factory, or construction site you will understand the daily corrosion industrial floors are subjected to. Therefore, they require special care and our industrial cleaning equipment is the one for the job.

The use of industrial floor cleaners, including ride-on and pedestrian floor scrubbers and dryers, is necessary to maintain and ensure the longevity of industrial and commercial floors. Besides allowing your business floors to be able to cope with daily heavy activity, the cleaning and maintenance of industrial floors will also help your business conform to safety standards.

We stock a wide range of warehouse floor scrubbers and dryers to help with the gruelling task of cleaning large floor spaces through our short term and long term (Flexi-Hire) fleet. Whether it is an emergency ‘spot hire’ you require or if you have a more permanent requirement, we have the machine range, experience and extensive hire fleet to assist your business.

Should you require the knowledge of the type of cleaning method and equipment you require for your floor type and texture, read on to find out more.

One step technique

Using this technique and one of our heavy-duty ride on scrubbers, you will begin scrubbing the industrial floor using a cleaning agent. At the same time, the industrial cleaning equipment will clear off the dirt that comes loose.

Two step technique

The second technique involves covering the whole area with the cleaning agent and water and then cleaning up the solution using one of our industrial cleaning machines.

Daily maintenance

For routine maintenance, it is best to employ the one step technique. To remove light soiling, fit the adequate pads or scrubbing brushes to your scrubber dryer and commence cleaning. To reduce contact pressure, you can use lower speeds for the roller brush.

Deep cleaning

From time to time, deep cleaning is required to keep industrial floors as clean as possible. Deep cleaning involves wet scrubbing to clean encrusted dirt, oil and grease.

This method requires a ride on scrubber that has a roller scrubbing head and if the floor covering allows, you can apply the two step technique for optimum results. It is important that this method is carried out carefully to prevent the floor from becoming too wet.

To start, cover the surface that needs cleaning with the assistance of a scrubber dryer. Using an appropriate cleaning agent, scrub the area multiple times until the dirt starts to become loose. Following this step, clean out the dirty water with the help of the suction device and move on to the one step technique to carry on cleaning the area.

It is important that before carrying out deep cleaning, you understand the type of screed that has been used on the industrial floor. We also recommend avoiding using the two step technique on floors that are sensitive to water.

At SRS Cleaning Equipment, we supply warehouses, factories, and construction sites throughout the UK with heavy-duty ride-on sweepers and scrubbers through our short term and long term (Flexi-Hire) fleet.
